Started With TOHFAN
WHO IS A HIRING AGENT?
A hiring agent is an investor per day (8am to 5pm) of operation. He invests and makes profit. A hiring agent invests 62,500 Naira at the end of the day with the growth revenue of 75,000 naira per day. If we deduct 62,500 naira from 75,000 naira, the hiring agent will make a profit of 12,500 naira over his investment per day.
Roles and Responsibility of a hiring agent
A hiring agent has to make upfront payment of 35,000 naira for a tractor, 10,000 naira for fuelling, 3,000 naira for servicing, 3,000 naira for minor repairs and 4,000 naira for transporting tractor from owner’s location to wherever he is taking the tractor to and then 7,000 naira to the operator of the tractor. If you add everything all these expenses it will amount to 62,000 naira which is the hiring agent’s investment per day.
WHO IS A BOOKING AGENT?
The booking agent is an aggregator. The booking agent aggregates demands from farmers. The booking agent gets the farmer’s name, phone number if the farmer has, what operation the farmer need; ploughing, harrowing, ridging, etc? At what time does the farmer need such operation? And on how many hectares does the farmer wish to make use of the tractor? It is work of the booking agent to aggregate these demands at the end of the day and ascertain how many hectares and how many tractors are needed in a cluster. For example if a booking agent aggregates 210 hectares in a cluster and the booking agent says the farmers need ploughing operation. If you divide 210 hectares by 3 hectares (which is the number of hectare a tractor does a day), you see it will give us 70 tractors which means we need 70 tractors for these 210 hectares in a day and the booking agent may the operation is need to be done in seven days; dividing that 70 tractors by 7 will give us 10 tractors, so 10 tractors will be deployed in that cluster to work for 7 days. If the farmers request for the job to be completed in ten days we will divide the 70 tractors by 10 days which will give us 7 tractors to deploy. The booking agent as an aggregator is entailed to ten percent (10%) commission of whatever the tractor has generated. With the gross revenue of a tractor by day being 75,000 naira, a booking agent is entailed to ten (10) percent of the aggregated jobs he brought to TOHFAN making the booking agent entailed to be 7,500 naira per day.
